HIRECON26 wrapped up in Auckland this week, and The Power Source was proud to be part of it.
Held on 28-29 July 2026 at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter, HIRECON26 is the Hire Industry Association of New Zealand’s (HIANZ) flagship annual conference. It is the only national event designed exclusively for the hire industry, and this year it delivered on every front. Two packed days of exhibition, education, and genuine connection between hire owners, managers, suppliers, and teams from across New Zealand and beyond.
For The Power Source, being on the floor at HIRECON26 is about more than showing up. It is about staying close to the industry we support. Power solutions are central to hire and construction operations, and being in the same room as the people making decisions about equipment, infrastructure, and investment gives us a clearer picture of where things are heading.
The speaker program this year was genuinely practical. Logan Wedgwood from Advisory.Works ran a session on sales frameworks that cut through the noise with tools you could actually use the next day. The broader program covered the economic outlook, people management, communication, business resilience, and the habits shaping the next generation of industry leaders. Nothing theoretical for the sake of it.
The Hire Excellence Awards on the afternoon of 29 July brought the two days to a strong close, celebrating the people, teams, and businesses setting the standard across the New Zealand hire industry. Categories covered everything from Hire Company of the Year to Hire Product of the Year, with the awards held right on the exhibition floor.
The mood across HIRECON26 reflected an industry that is focused and forward-thinking. There is real energy around new equipment, new technology, and the kind of practical problem-solving that keeps hire businesses competitive. That energy aligns directly with what The Power Source and Deltec are building toward, keeping operations across Australia and New Zealand powered, productive, and ready for what is next.
